Choosing a new pair of glasses is an opportunity to refresh your look and express your personal style. At Lowy & Sewell Eye Care, our team understands your frames are more than just a tool for clear vision: They’re often the first thing people notice about you. As styles evolve, you can find exciting new options that blend form, function, and fashion.

The top frame styles for 2026 blend innovative technology with classic designs, featuring smart glasses, bold colours, and modern takes on timeless shapes. The latest trends offer something for every taste and age, from subtle and sophisticated to bright and adventurous.

The Rise of Smart Glasses and Wearable Tech

Technology and eyewear are coming together in new and practical ways. Smart glasses now offer features that can simplify your day, allowing you to capture photos and videos hands-free or listen to music with open-ear speakers. Some models even integrate with AI features that may benefit some users, including those looking for added accessibility support.

How Tech Meets Style

You don’t have to choose between tech-focused features and a great look. Many smart glasses now come in classic designs, like the iconic Ray-Ban and Oakley styles you already know and love. These frames are designed to be lightweight and balanced, making them comfortable enough for you to wear all day, every day.

Plus, our team can help you determine if they’ll work with your prescription.

Frames for Your Lifestyle

With more styles to choose from, you can find smart glasses that match your life. Go for a timeless wayfarer or headliner look for daily wear, or pick a sporty option for your active days. With a variety of colours available, it’s easier than ever to find a pair that complements your personal style.

Bold Colours and Transparent Frames Make a Statement

Your glasses are 1 of our favourite ways to show off your personality. This year, vibrant hues are a popular choice for making a statement. You can explore rich jewel tones like emerald and sapphire, or go for softer pastels that add a gentle pop of colour. The timeless appeal of tortoiseshell patterns also remains a top choice, and we completely understand why.

What Colour Frame Can Refresh Your Look

The right colour can complement your appearance, too. Frames in warm tones, like copper, gold, or warm red, can help brighten your complexion and add a welcoming glow. On the other hand, cool colours such as silver, blue, or grey can offer a sleek and sophisticated style. A touch of bright colour adds a fun, playful element to any outfit.

The Enduring Appeal of Clear Acetate

For a look that is both modern and subtle, transparent frames are an excellent choice. Clear acetate means that your own features are the focus, without the distraction of a dark frame. This minimalist style is incredibly versatile, pairing well with any outfit or occasion, from professional settings to casual weekends.

Classic Shapes Get a Modern Twist

Some styles never truly fade, and this year, they’re getting a fresh update. Timeless designs are being reimagined with modern details like thinner metals and unique materials. The focus remains on creating frames that are not only stylish but also comfortable and durable enough for your daily life, accommodating a range of vision needs, like digital eye strain.

Updated Aviators and Cat-Eyes

The beloved vintage shapes, the aviator and the cat-eye, are back with a modern flair. You may notice sleeker lines and new proportions that flatter a wide range of face shapes. These updated classics use subtle angles to enhance your features, giving you a vintage feel that is well-suited for today.

Geometric and Oversized Silhouettes

If you prefer a bolder style, geometric and oversized frames create a striking look. Angular shapes like hexagons and octagons can add definition to your face, while large frames create an immediate fashion statement. The key is to find a balance between a bold silhouette and a frame that feels comfortable and wearable for you.

How to Choose the Right Frame

With so many options, picking the right pair can feel like a big decision. A comprehensive eye exam is the first step so that your prescription is up to date. From there, consider which frames complement your features, and most importantly, let your personal style guide your choice. The right pair should make you feel excited to put on your glasses.

Match Your Face Shape

A simple guideline can help you narrow down your options. If you have a more angular face with a strong jawline, round or oval frames can add softness. For those with rounder faces, frames with strong angles, like square or rectangular shapes, can add definition. People with oval faces often find that many different styles suit them well.

Get a Professional Fitting

A comfortable fit is just as important as the style. When you try on frames, check that the nose bridge sits comfortably without pinching or sliding. The temples (or arms) of the glasses should fit securely over your ears. We provide professional fittings to help you avoid issues such as pressure marks on your nose or discomfort behind your ears.
